Dumbledore entry number one. :)I'll start with my first entry about Dumbledore.I meant to do this several weeks ago, but then I got busy with school and marching band and all that fun stuff and haven't been getting enough sleep. Haha. I'm actually not getting to sleep like I should be now to write this, but I feel like since I forgot about it for so long, I need to get to at least a small entry. As we all know, apart from all his other distinct and impressive qualities, Dumbledore was gay. Many reading the books thought he was eccentric, a bit strange, a bit off his rocker, but never would have guessed he was gay. Honestly when I heard, I wasn't that shocked. I wasn't captiulated into throes of hate towards Dumbledore's character. I didn't curse Jo for making this character we all loved gay. As the line from the song "Dumbledore is Gay" goes from the song by JFF, "Dumbledore is gay and that's okay I don't look at him any different than I did yesterday. Dumbledore is gay and that's okay. He's still the greatest freaking wizard of his day and age." I've been able to respect Jo and Dumbledore through the last year or so. For a while now, I'd known my cousin was gay. I was faced with the news this past year that my dad is gay. He made his lifestyle change within the 6 or 7 months. Have I always been happy with it? No. Has it taken me a while to be able to respect his decision and still love him? Definitely. I don't necessarily agree with it. But he's still my dad. Still someone I love very greatly. "Don't try to be something you aren't, be something you are." Dumbledore never tried to be someone he wasn't. For a long time, my dad tried to be something he wasn't. Through all of this I've learned that I can't lie to people and pretend I'm someone I'm not. If they can't accept me for who I am, I do not need to change myself to fit in with who they think I should be. | |
Dumbledore ChallengeI have decided to challenge myself to quote and write about a different quote from Dumbledore weekly until I run out of quotes on Mugglenet's quote webpage. After that, I am going to challenge myself to write about another person/book character's quotes. | |

Hullo mates! I meant to post on Thanksgiving... but you can see the evidence of how well that worked out! haha I went to see the Twilight movie which was an excellent movie. I'm not really surprised though. The book was written like a movie, so it made a good movie. And yes I have found myself wishing they'd hurry up and get the next movie released. XD. I was thinking about searching for some Twilight icons to put up... but I'm too lazy so who knows what'll end up being on this post when I'm done. Oh! Wait! I'll just get some of the flair I got on facebook last night. hehe Twilight:
